One paragraph.
NiteDate is the dating experience built around a real appointment, not endless swiping. Four singles meet for the first time on a live group video date. Cass warms the room with light questions, then the Live Date rotates through the hot seat — one dater at a time fielding questions from the others, deciding to KEEP each question or PASS. Mutual matches go private. Recaps land in your inbox the same night.

NiteDate is a Brooklyn company building live group video dating experiences around real appointments. We were founded in 2026 on the premise that dating apps have become endless lobbies, and that chemistry is easier to read when people meet live. A Live Date runs fifteen minutes and follows four singles through a guided room moderated by Cass, an AI host built with Pipecat and Google. Participants can signal interest privately, mutual matches go private, and recaps land in-app or by email the same night. Paid memberships add more access, richer profile signals, and priority placement on future Live Dates. For press inquiries, email press@nitedate.com.
“I wanted a dating thing my friends would actually watch.”
Ivan Mbakop and Larry Jemison founded NiteDate in 2026 after years of seeing friends drown in matches that never met. Ivan hosts the live dates every Tuesday and Thursday.
Their interest is the question of why dating got so optimized — and how to make it feel alive again. NiteDate is the answer they wished existed: fewer matches, better rooms, and real people who arrive for the date.
